FALL UPDATE

Hello this is dan here from Bend Sinister touching base with everyone after an incredible summer of leisure to give the current new in BEND SINISTER land. We returned from toronto mid june, and through July and August the band only played 2 summer shows in Nanaimo and Tofino. Taking a break to plan for the fall, we all returned to our day jobs or lives, though i decided to try to work as little as possible and be at the beach as much as possible. I worked a total of 6 days all summer as a PA on commercial shoots, and the rest of the time I played solo shows here and there, some improv electronica sets at a new bar THE GUILT AND COMPANY, and then to help with a little spending money, sold beers out of my van at local beaches and the 10th hole of Queen Elizabeth Pitch and Putt, which proved to be a good summer leisure venture! Now that september is rolling around the band is getting serious again and hitting the road across the country. Its going to be a busy fall as we hope that after our 2 months on the road we will return to Vancouver in November and start work on a full length record. We’ve got a good 15-20 more songs I’ve been working on this summer and stock piling from the past year and we’re very excited to get them to tape. Anyway, stay tuned with news from the road, but now that I’ve been to the beach around 30-40 times and got a solid tan its time to get to work. Oh and if you’re in vancouver this Sept 3rd, I’ve put some friends together to play with me at the Biltmore for a special event called SMOOTH SAILING at yacht rock tribute night with 12 bands. We are covering 3 songs: Logical Song – Supertramp, Rosanna- Toto, and Somebody’s Baby – Jackson Brown. It will be hilarious!!
